What is a remortgage quote?
I found that sometimes using mortgage quotes online that I had to fill in a form with some basic information about the remortgage needed. I was then presented with a list of possible lenders and their current quotes. Usually this list covered basic information like the lender, interest rate, the annual percentage rate (APR), and the mortgage type. I didn’t always have to fill in a form first to get to that level of information it has to be said
One thing I found is that the fees for setting up various remortgages are not always apparent. They increase the overall cost of the mortgage so I made sure that I got that information if it was not on the quote.
Why get a remortgage quote?
I know I didn’t have to get quotes for the lowest mortgage rates but I felt it was the starting point that I needed to build a picture of exactly what the mortgage repayments were likely to be and whether I could afford them! At some point I knew I had to talk to someone about the various options so found that a less daunting prospect by looking at what a remortgage quote online could inform me with.
Where to get remortgage quotes
In the research that I did I discovered that I could get quotes by going to lenders direct. I found this didn’t really give me an accurate picture of the lowest mortgage rates available in the market place however.
Another option I found was to go to a broker who would do the search for me for remortgage quotes and set up the paperwork and submission.
Lastly I found very useful the websites that offer comparison mortgage quotes online. The information is presented side by side so that it is easy to compare like with like.
So I determined that remortgage quotes are an important starting point to help inform the whole process of getting a really good remortgage deal. I used it as the basis to ask intelligent questions of the lender and to make sure that I knew exactly what I was being quoted for in the remortgage quote. Ultimately by using these quotes I found one of the best deals possible at the time!
